A series of very recent paintings focussed on the body or, rather, on details stolen from feminine images. A new research by this artist, who this once splits up his subject and rules out its very hallmark: the gaze. Scenes stolen by a prying eye that works its way in between the curves and the folds of young and mysterious creatures. Zooming in, the artist’s eyes move freely, brush those inviting curves and dare where the sharp contrast between shadow and light leaves nothing to be seen.
Sharp colours mixed by an expert and natural hand; perspectives that, in their detail, refuse to reveal the rest of the image, which remains prey of our subconscious.
A great modern work of art interspersed with metropolitan style quotes that opens to new expressive solutions, in which the medium is not the gaze, but rather details, poses and light fulfil that function.
